Planning Meeting 11/21

Tonight, the CFC Youth Connection Team met together as a group for the first time for a night full of pizza and tossing ideas around about what we want to do in the upcoming months as a team. We're all excited for the upcoming months as we learn how to best communicate with each other in order to serve each other, our church, and our community.

Connection Team Ideas 11/21

  • Activating the Youth Group:
    • Sponsor Compassion Children
      • Write letters to the kids we sponsor (either one letter from the youth group or each person writes)
    • Create a Youth Group Missions Fund
      • Have each youth group member fill out a pledge card or give a one time donation
      • Fund will be used to sponsor Compassion Kids and to help in other service endeavors (aka we won't pay for pizza with this fund - sorry guys!)
    • Pray for Each Other
      • Anonymous prayer requests, either on a:
        • A 'clothesline', where each request is written and pinned on and people can take the requests with them to pray for them throughout the week (doesn't have to be anonymous).
        • A bowl of prayer requests written on slips of paper
        • A virtual chalkboard, where each person can write their requests.
    • Each Member Sets Goals and Holds Others Accountable
      • We want to make sure we are growing individually and as a team :)
  • Housekeeping Things
    • We will be meeting one time a month on either Fridays or Saturdays, whichever works for more people that month.
      • Every time we meet, the blog will be updated so that people who couldn't come to the meeting will still be in the loop :)
    • Most of our communication will be through Facebook Messenger.
  • December Service
    • As a team, we will try to help CFC decorate for Christmas/Clean up the church on December 4th and/or 5th.
      • This is a great way to make the church body more aware that CFC actually has a youth group! ;)
    • We will also be caroling and baking cookies at some point in December - when is still TBD.
  • In the Meantime
    • Olivia is checking with nursing homes and other places about times and dates we can go caroling - we'll vote on which date works for the most people later. Olivia is also checking on Gain and service opportunities there.
    • Tina will find out about Waterstreet Ministries and ways that we could serve them during the holidays.
